I’m doing research for a friend. Were there other designs of the kicking mule insignia for the 602nd? He has a Gemsco made pin showing the kicking mule but it is kicking to the upper right hand side and there appears to be something being projected into the air just above it’s rear hooves!(possibly a artillery shell) but I’m not sure. Any information would be most helpfull.
Thank you very much,
Keith |

| My father, Alfred H. Baume left New York City in 1943 to head out to Ft Carson and ride mules with the 602. He remembers those times with fondness, as well as many of the reunions that occurred many years later. Like many others, WW II changed Dads life and allowed him a much better life for himself, and enabled him to take care of his family, and his wife until the day he died. Dad passed away at 92 years old, on December 10, 2007. He is interned in the columbarium, at Arlington National Cemetery. |
