Hello! I’m a current resident of Sapporo, interested in starting aikido training. The dojos you’ve listed, are they welcoming towards outsiders? Do they speak English? My Japanese is good, but I fear not good enough for this kind of thing. Which dojo would you recommend? here’s the ol’ email address if you’d like to respond;

I was in Chitose, Hokkaido, with the US Army from 1961 to 1963 and studied with Hiroshi Isoyama. Reached Sho-dan before I left. Was able, through Iso, to meet Saito-Sensi, Waka-Sennsi, and O-Sennsi. I reached Ni-dan on my second visit to Japan in 1969/1970 through Iso and Saito-Sensi’s instruction. I need to contact someone in Sapporo who is a long time resident of Hokkaido, who can speak English, and has access to e-mail. Can you recommend someone please?

Hello!

Thanks for a nice website. Im going to Sapporo next spring and am very intersted in continuing my aikido-training!
Tho I have only been at it for a year.
Are foreigners who cant speak japanese well, welcome at this dojo? Is the cost very high? Please send me some lines with mail, I would appreciate it.
