A friend of mine shared a video of HIH on You Tube and it brought back some wonderful memories. A friend of mine came to visit from Sheffield one night when dear Regina was entertaining at the Two Brewers. He had never seen anything like it. We just knew we would have a marvellous night with Regina.
You truly are missed

A mate of mine just posted a youtube link of your fab self at the black cap in 92 and brouht back so many memories, you were the first ever drag act i saw back in 1989 at teh pardise club in angel when i was a then and now very illegal 15 years old but somehow i got in
i was nervous being there with m8s and then they told me you were on and i didnt know what to expect at the tender and delicate age (yeah right) to say you were fab is an understatement, i was cracking up at skippy and teh typewriter had me in hysterics to the point i nearly had an asthma attack !!!
You may be gone no but you will never be forgotten, you truly were an original and there have been many pretenders to your HIH crown but none are deserving of it,
You live on even today thru the wonders of the internet and all of us adoring fans who had the pleasure and honour of seeing you many many many times and would do so happily again if we had the chance,
Thank you for so many great memories they truly are treasured,
I hope you are living it up it heaven giving everyone merry hell and that the faberge eggs made the trip along as well,
Gods bless you once again for just being you
Love and hugs

| Well, well, well... I’ve just stumbled on this website and I have to say that doing so has brought tumbling back such a lot of memories. I was a Black Cap regular in the ’80s and ’90s, and Regina was always the highlight. I knew most of the dances, and always used to shout for Skippy and Night Train when Her Imperial Highness asked for requests. The Finale was always double-edged; you either danced to it alongside whomever you’d pulled, in which case it was an exciting yet familiar prelude to a night of passion with a horny stranger... or you danced to it desperately scanning the boys around you for someone who, like you, had failed to pull and was up for it. Great days, great memories. And, last but not least, who else remembers the Skinny Bitch?! She was fab, too... |

| I’m very proud to say I and my partner were Fongettes! and we loved the finale we all danced to...good old Helen Shapiro ’I’ve lost him’, I remember us doing it one night when a lot of ’out of towners’ were in and they thought we were completely mad...will always remember Regina, Skippy, I am on a train, Egoist and all the others..God it seems so long ago; RIP, HIH Regina Fong XXXX |

Jungle Red!
As a straight woman I was an interloper at the Cap, but always made to feel welcome nonetheless. And oh, so many wonderful, happy, joyous memories! Skippy the Butch Kangaroo, She-Ra, Janet Smith, Typewriter, Lorralorralorra, Barbarella - I still think of Regina every time I see a packet of Bassetts anything! How my poor ankles would ache after clog dancing! And of course, the moment we Fongettes waited for every Tuesday night, "I’ve lost him and I don’t know how..." I loved Lily at the Vauxhall, but Regina was Tsarina.
And "the skinny bitch", Zsarday, was MAGNIFICENT! So sad to hear of her passing too. Heaven must be rocking with the two of them up there - after all, hell would be just too darn hot!
Thank you for some precious memories, sadly never to be repeated, but gloriously never to be forgotten. Goodbye Regina. May your energy box never die... |

| a fantastic act and a fantastic bloke - had the good fortune to work with HIH for serveral months at Heaven on a Friday night - we had him hosting a quiz show....he did his act a couple of times on the main stage at Heaven - I will never forget the arm waving with paper plates during the finale - nearly a thousand fongettes in the same place! - superb - sadly missed - a real shame and we’ll not see his like again..... |
