Hello,
I enjoyed your attractively presented website. I have a question about the entry on Arthur Mastaw, which says he was married to Cynthia Martin 9/24/1887. I am researching her and I note under the obituary for Antoine Mastaw it says he had a daughter "Mrs. Eva Conroy Busse of St. Paul," It may be the obit is incorrect and that’s his niece. Cynthia later married an Arthur Conroy and had a daughter Edith--my family knew her as "Edie," but could also be the "Eva" mentioned here.
Anyway, do you have further information about Arthur/Antoine?
Thanks
Jeff

Hello Heather - Thank you so much for your prompt reply when I was having trouble finding your website.
You have done a wonderful job of organizing your information.
Under Penetanguishene Voyageur (where you click on list of voyageurs) it comes up as a can’t find webpage.
I’m anxiously waiting for more information on the other branches of the family. I descend from Louis (son of Rene 1699) 2nd marriage to Francoise Trottier which isn’t listed.
If I can add any information on my family, don’t hesitate to ask.

Hi Heather, My great grandmother was Clara Langridge Perry Rankin. Her daughter, May Perry Conley, was my grandmother. I found your address through Winnie Perry (my mother’s cousin) and Charlotte Turner. I was doing research on this family and then kind of stopped after Winnie became ill. I have newspapers from England regarding Clara’s first husband’s death. My mother (Treva Conley) and her sister’s knew about the Rankins, but I doubt that they ever met them. I’m a little confused about the Rankin family. My phone number is 248-684-2330. You can call collect is you would, I would love to speak to you. Your web site is very impressive. Regards, Marilyn

Hi Heather
Well I have been working on my family lines. At first I thought it would end with my mothers mom. As she disapeared and was never found again in 1949 or earlier. And my mom knew very little about here never mind her family. I found my mom to be a direct decendent of Nicolas Pelltier. Down threw his son Fancois Pelltier. Down the Antaya line. My moms Grand parents were Clyde Antaya and Leota Brown B; 1902 in Michigan. Clyde Antaya’s Obit names Leota’s Parents as Thomas and Annie Brown. One of Leota’s daughters is still alive today and thinks Leota was adopted. Leota’s info says she was born in Michigan and her parents were born in Canada. The 1910 Census said Leota her mother Annie and her stepfather James Polach lived in Sualt Ste Marie Chippewa Michigan. Ward 2 I think. By adopted could that mean that Annie Brown/Black remarried James Polach and he adopted Leota. Also I found a Thomas Brown on a death record born a couple yrs before Leota and he lived in Sualt Ste Marie Chippewa Michigan. I think he could be Leota’s older brother. Possibly her dad Thomas Brown passed away. In Canada or in Sualt Ste Marie Chippewa Michigan. Do you know where I can find the info or if there were adoption records for my Great Gradmother born in 1902. And I an pretty sure she would of been born in Sualt Ste Marrie Chippewa Michigan. My mom was always told her mother was French/Native mix. I beleive Leota married Clyde Antaya and possibly lived on both sides of the border over the yrs she was alive. As my grand mother (Mable Antaya) dissapeared in 1949 and she was always crossing the border to visit her mother but there are no records of her crossing over that I can find. And the cossing was from Detroit to Windsor. There are records of My Grand father and my aunt but not my grand mother. Could that be because she was classed as a native and didn’t have to sign anything to cross over. I thought maybe because you are in the right area that you may be able to help me out. I would like to find all my moms history before she is to old to go anywhere and see places and meet people. As you can imagin to never be able to remember your mom must be a very huge void for someone. And something my mom burried until I found her family line. I saw a look in my mom I never saw before and I want to finish what I have started. The Antaya side was easy it was already well researched. and is in books for verification. It all ends at my Grand mother Mable Antaya. In our line until now. I have 4 more Generations to ofer from my mom to my grand daughter. The people researching Didn’t have Leota Brown as Clyde Antaya’s wife except one and it has his obt which names her and their children and my grand father. And Clyde’s Marriage info sates Leota is his wife. Alot of the tress have Leota as Loreta. Loreta is wrong. Also some trees have my grand father as ? McLaughlin or Jack. His real name was John Michael McLaughlin. AKA Jack. For anyone that my be trying to find info on Mable Antaya. Anyway if you could help out that would be great. I have lots of search tools I just need to where to look.
Thanks Leslie Carter
